Cycle for Survival Raises $8 Million
for Rare Cancers
Now in its fifth year, Cycle for Survival is an indoor cycling fundraiser benefiting rare cancer research at MSKCC. The event began in 2007 as a grassroots fundraiser founded by MSKCC patient Jennifer Goodman Linn, and has doubled in size each year, raising $8 million to date.
Hometown to co-founder David Linn, this is the second year the event has taken place in Chicago, and both the University of Chicago and Northwestern University have participated in clinical trials funded by Cycle for Survival.
Local celebrities in attendance included: Brian McBride, Chicago Fire Soccer Club, Nick Roach, Chicago Bears Linebacker, Tim Lenahan, Northwestern Men’s Soccer Team Head Coach, the Northwestern Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Lacrosse Teams, and Sparky the Chicago Fire Soccer Club Mascot.
