Mac Kid Review: Tiggly Shapes & Tiggly Counts

By Sponsored October 30, 2014
If we let him, my Mac Kid would spend all day every day playing on our iPad. We limit his time and have downloaded educational apps for when he does get screen time, but even then it can feel like he's just zoning out in front of the screen.

Enter Tiggly! With interactive toys and apps created to help teach math to preschoolers, Tiggly takes the guilt out of screen time!

Both Tiggly Counts and Tiggly Shapes come with physical toys (shapes or counters) that interact with your iPad and require 3 free apps. For Tiggly Shapes, the apps are Tiggly Draw, Safari and Stamp. For Tiggly Counts, download Tiggly Cardtoons, Addventure and Chef. Your child can then play each game using the shapes and counters to draw pictures, make farm animals, help create recipes and more. Each app teaches shape recognition and early math skills, along with being a lot of fun!

My Mac Kid was very excited to try these toys/apps out! At 5 he already knows his shapes, but he still loved the creativity and artistic side of Tiggly Shapes. On the math side, he really enjoyed Tiggly Addventure and I liked watching him figure out the addition problems using the counters.

The shapes and counters are a nice size and rubberized, so easy for little fingers to grab. They also have rubber feet so you don't have to worry about your iPad screen getting scratched up.

Tiggly Counts just launched October 21, but even prior to launching they had already won the 2014 Tillywig Brain Child Award as one of the most "exciting products that energize the mind while seamlessly blending fun and learning."

Here in Chicago you can purchase Tiggly Counts and Tiggly Shapes at Galt Toys + Galt Baby. Or shop online until October 31 and save 25% off on pre-orders. The Tiggly Apps are free and available through the Apple Store.

You can learn more about Tiggly via their website, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.
