REVIEW: Disney's Frozen Sing-Along DVD

We had a COOL time at our Frozen party!

November 20, 2014
When Disney's Frozen came out last year, they immediately had a hit on their hands. Little girls wanted to be Elsa and Anna, everyone loved Olaf and who hasn't belted out "Let It Go" in the shower?!?! Almost a year later, the Frozen phenomenon continues and with the release of the Frozen Sing-Along DVD on November 18, you and your family can dance and sing with Elsa, Anna and Olaf anytime you want! All with the help of a bouncing snowflake taking you through the lyrics.

I hosted a pre-release party for the DVD last weekend and was thrilled to be joined by 24 Macaroni families, lots of little princesses and even a brave knight! It was a cold, snowy day in Chicago--perfect for a viewing of Frozen!

As guests arrived, everyone got a Frozen tattoo and then helped themselves to a Frozen coloring sheet for a little art before the movie started. Once the movie started, the fun really began! These little audience members knew every word and sang and danced their hearts out! Of course, "Let It Go" was the big number for our singers, but "In Summer" ran a close second.

While all of the kids at our party had seen (and love!) Frozen, we had a few adult guests who were watching for the first time. They laughed at the jokes, they enjoyed the story and one mom even confessed to me that she teared up at the end. And that's what makes Frozen so great--it's an exciting, funny, touching story for any age!

Following the lyrics with the bouncing snowflake was a fun experience for all of our guests and I know my family will watch (and sing) Frozen over and over! The Sing-Along DVD is a wonderful addition to a family's movie library and I'm sure it will make its way into many holiday stockings this year!

I could not have thrown this party without the help of some awesome local businesses. Every guest went home with a cool goody bag from Building Blocks Toy Store! And Building Blocks donated some fun Frozen items for giveaways! So jealous of the winner of the Frozen fleece blanket! That would come in super-handy these days!

Most of the pix from our party were taken by Ashbey from Bum Bul Bee Photos + Films. She does gorgeous work and is so amazing with kids! They love to pose for her. (P.S. She has a great deal going on for holiday cards right now!)

Lastly, you can't host a party without a great venue, so a HUGE thank you to Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) for the use of their black box theatre. It was perfect for our party and let our guests have a real movie-going experience.
