Date Night: GEJAS CAFE

Enjoy a kid-free evening with your honey!

August 19, 2010
This purpose of this newsletter is to keep you informed of all of the fun events you can share with your family.  However I think it's important that we moms and dads take a little kid-free time as well, so on occasion I will be posting information on fun date night locations and events.

Our first date night event occurs on Wednesday, August 25 at Geja’s Café, 340 West Armitage, and will encourage feuding couples everywhere to forgive each other on National Kiss and Make Up Day.  That day, diners who indicate they are dining to “Kiss and Make Up” will each receive a complimentary glass of champagne with the purchase of two premiere dinners.  Voted as one of the “Top 10 Places to Kiss in Chicago” by HoneymooninChicago.com, an unofficial “house rule” that requires anyone who loses food in the fondue pot to kiss their date will be strongly in effect at Geja’s Cafe that evening.  Geja’s Café, long known as Chicago’s most romantic restaurant, has been the site of 127,671 first dates and 15,464 engagements and diners have enjoyed over 290 tons of cheese fondue and over 926,187 bottles of wine over its forty-five year existence.

Known for romantic fondue dining – food one prepares and shares – and an extensive list of fine, moderately priced wines, Geja’s Café features over 20 different types of fondue entrees including cheese fondue and chocolate dessert fondue.  An enchanting wine cellar atmosphere, private booths, and subdued lighting contribute to its intimate surroundings.   Live flamenco and classical guitarists provide romantic accompaniment.

Hours for Geja’s Café are Monday through Thursday, 5 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday, 5 p.m. to 11p.m.; Saturday, 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; Sunday, 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Valet parking is available.  For more information, please call 773.281.9101, or visit gejascafe.com.
