Then IK Gymnastics is for you! This new, state-of-the-art gym facility offers Chicago’s children gymnastics and gymnastics-related athletic development opportunities in the West Roscoe Village neighborhood.
IK Gymnastics is owned and operated by Irina Kudina, a former member of the Soviet Union Junior Olympic Team and the head coach of the girls’ team at Lakeshore Academy. IK Gymnastics provides children and adults with classes to suit all age ranges and talents. Class offerings include:
- Parent & Tot - Everything from Baby Yoga to Toddler Tumbling
- For Girls - Recreational Gymnastics and Specialty Classes such as Aero Dance and Zumba Kids
- For Boys - Breaknastics, Gymnastics and Tumbling
- For Adults - Pilates, Prenatal and even Lunchtime Workouts!
My son and I recently tried out a Parent & Tot class and so enjoyed our time at the gym! Our teacher was so kind and patient with my toddler and despite being a bit of a mama's boy, he immediately felt comfortable with her, took her hand and headed into the gym. Once in there, he rolled, he crawled, he balanced, he climbed. He was a little tentative on the trampoline so the teacher encouraged me to jump with him. Wow! I haven't been on a trampoline in years, but what fun!
My little guy thoroughly enjoyed the class and did not want to go home. I think these classes would be great any time of year, but especially with the colder weather coming I'm happy to know he'll have a way to burn some energy and get some exercise.
And maybe I'll get another go on that trampoline!
