Honor the life and legacy of a great man with these community celebrations:
  • Join Pump It Up Chicago for MLK Day Play!
  • A cherished Sinfonietta tradition since its founding in 1987, the 2016 MLK tribute concert celebrates the life, legacy and vision of Dr. King through a diverse program that includes symphonic masterworks and gospel music.
  • The Chicago Zoological Society will celebrate Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day through various local musical presentations at Brookfield Zoo.
  • Chicago Children's Museum will present four performances of 'What Does It Mean, Dr. King', an original museum production that dramatizes the history of the Civil Rights Movement in a context that preschool through elementary school-aged children will be able to comprehend.
  • Join AmeriCorps Project YES!, a program of the Northwestern Settlement, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at their 9th Annual Literacy Fair.
