This September, more than fifty Macaroni Kid Publishers are coming together to make a difference in their communities and included in this amazing national day will be a Macaroni Kid Chicago team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's!
On September 25, Macaroni Kid Chicago will join with their friends, families and readers to walk in the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's. Macaroni Kid Chicago has set a goal of raising $2000 for Alzheimer's research and programs that support patients and their caregivers.
"I'm thrilled to be doing something to make a difference in Chicago while still being part of the larger national movement," says Sara Youngblood-Ochoa, Macaroni Kid Publisher for Chicago. "My mother has early-onset Alzheimer's and as I learn more about this disease I realize how far we still have to go in finding a cure. I am looking forward to helping raise money towards that goal."
We are proud to be a part of this 3rd annual nationwide celebration. Over the last 2 years, Macaroni Kid Publishers have come together to raise over $20,000 for local charities, 35,000 diapers were donated, hundreds of kids signed anti-bullying pledges and the list goes on. We are honored to use our reach in over 600 communities nationwide, include the community and show Acts of Kindness in so many ways.
The Chicago Walk to End Alzheimer's is Sunday, September 25 at 10AM. I'd love to have as many Macaroni families join our team as possible! It is free to be a team member and to walk. This link will take you to our team page to sign up.
