Summer at ChiArts

A three-week summer camp designed for students in grades K-5 and 6-8 to explore the artistic disciplines of Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts in a joyful and nurturing environment, led by artists from the Chicago High School for the Arts. Campers will receive pre-professional training in the arts and create original pieces for performance and showcase.

K-5 Exploratory Camp

Students in Grades K-5 will explore the art of expression in Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Art through different fun and exciting themes. A performance will be held each Friday showcasing the students’ work throughout the week. Students may attend all three weeks of camp or individual weeks featuring new creative projects!

  • Week 1, PEOPLE - 9:00am-12:00pm, July 10-14
    • Tuition: $200
  • Week 2, PLACES - 9:00am-12:00pm, July 17-21 
    • Tuition: $200
  • Week 3, THINGS - 9:00am-12:00pm, July 24-28
    • Tuition $200


ChiArts Jr.

  • Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts, or Voice - July 10-28, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm (students bring bag lunch)
    • Tuition: $750
    • Students in grades 6-8 experience what it’s like to be ChiArts scholar-artist! For four hours each day, students are immersed in excellent pre-professional training in the conservatory of their choice, culminating in a final showcase of their work on Friday, July 28.
  • Band Camp - July 17-21, 9:00am-2:00pm  (students bring bag lunch)
    • Tuition: $300
    • Woodwind, brass, and percussion players in grades 6-8 with at least one year of experience are welcome to join us for a week of fun and intensive music making in an ensemble of students from all over Chicago, culminating in a performance on Friday, July 14.
  • Guitar Camp - July 17-21, 9:00am-2:00pm (students bring bag lunch)
    • Tuition: $300
    • Guitarists in grades 6-8 will build on their existing skills by experiencing different styles of playing. Students will learn how to read music and charts with other fun guitar players. The week will culminate in a performance on Friday, July 21.
