🎨 Meet Your Neighbor

Local Artist Jani Bodell

By Macaroni Kid Chicago (Midtown) November 2, 2018

Chicago is an amazingly diverse city and that is one of the things I cherish the most about raising our family here.  As publisher of Macaroni Kid Chicago, I get the opportunity to meet new people and learn their stories each and every day.  I am very excited for what will hopefully become a regular article highlighting some of our neighbors, sharing a little bit about them and what makes them worth knowing.

This week I would love to introduce you to local artist, Jani Bodell!

Jani Bodell was raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Currently, she resides in Lakeshore East, a neverending source of her inspiration. She is a self-taught artist, most commonly using acrylic or oil on canvas. Since the start of her career in 1996, she has sold over 600 paintings nationally and internationally. Since 1997, Jani has been painting commissioned pieces such as family vacation scenes or family action portraits. More recently, pet portraits have been a favorite of hers. When she isn’t painting commissions, her original works range from realism to abstract realism.
