Carnival Games for Nintendo Switch

All for Fun, Fun for All

By Macaroni Kid Chicago (Midtown) December 18, 2018

Who doesn’t love a carnival atmosphere? The rows of game after game, the smell of popcorn and the joy of winning a fistful of tickets to later trade for a prize!  I am instantly transformed back into a kid when at a fair, carnival or festival and we wait all winter for the cold to disappear and festival season to begin again in Chicago.

Now, thanks to Carnival Games, by 2K, we no longer have to wait for winter to end and can bring the carnival fun right into our hands at home.  With 20 exciting games, each quick and fun to play, you can play familiar games solo, or with friends, on a Nintendo Switch.

My son was thrilled when the game arrived in the mail and even more thrilled when I let him try it out on a school night.  My intention was to let him play on his own while I finished up some chores, but within minutes I was right beside him trying to hit home runs, toss balls into cups and bowling strikes.

We quickly decided to have a Carnival Games party with a group of friends and it was a blast!  We were able to set-up the Nintendo Switch in our community room and brought the fun to the big screen. We had 18 kids and 9 parents, loads of snacks and fun.  The game is recommended for ages 10+, but we had kids as young as 3 playing right alongside 12-year-olds.  The multiplayer aspect is great too - we were able to connect all four controllers and teams were quickly formed so everyone was able to get tons of playing time.

In previous formats, Carnival Games could only be played at home (Nintendo Wii) or on the go (Nintendo DS) on two different devices.  Now, on the Nintendo Switch, you get the best of both worlds with the 2018 release of the game.

Carnival Games by 2k was released November 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.  Rated “E” for everyone ages 10+ for mild cartoon violence, but I found it suitable for my 7-year-old.
At a retail price of $39.99, it will cost you less than any Chicago festival and the fun will last a lot longer!
