I have a confession to make.
My husband and I opened a couple of packs of SuperThings after our kids went to bed. Maybe more than "a couple" actually. The element of surprise and mystery is apparently a powerful thing at any age!
What are SuperThings? SuperThings are ordinary objects with not-so-ordinary powers and they are soon to be THE HOTTEST toy in the United States. Arriving November 2019, they are already a kid favorite in the UK and Spain (known overseas as "SuperZings") and I am sure they will be as popular with kids here too!
Macaroni Kid Chicago was lucky enough to receive some to share with kids around town and the reception has been overwhelmingly positive! Boys and girls of all ages (recommended 4 and up) have loved the excitement of opening the package to discover which SuperThing they received. Adults have commented on the creative, and independent, play they have inspired and one local teacher shared how her class is using them for math lessons!

SuperThings are ordinary, everyday objects with not-so-ordinary powers and each one has a rival. Spice Bandit (spicy pepper) is ready to battle Coolizer (soft-serve ice cream), Super Soft (fluffy pillow) takes on Ding Ring (alarm clock) and dozens of other match-ups. In addition to collecting all 80+ characters, there are also vehicles, hideouts and "super blasters" which fire foam discs at the SuperThings!
In line with other great collectible toys there are 9 special SuperThings you can find - six silver "Rare", two golden "Super Rare" characters and the single "Ultra Rare" Enigma character. Always the skeptic I thought it would take opening HUNDREDS of SuperThings to find any of these guys, but during our SuperThings party with some neighborhood kids we opened 100 bags (between 20 kids) and we had two discover an Enigma and a few of the silver and gold characters revealed.
