Classes and camps, either for a season or drop-in passes, make for a wonderful gift as well.  Chicago has so much to offer it's youngest residents, here are a few tried and tested favorites in the Macaroni Kid Chicago community!


CLASSES & CAMPS


Bubbles Academy
From infant to preschool, Bubbles Academy has something for everyone.  Offerings include yoga, art, music, movement and so much more - even classes for newborns and their parents!  Click on the link to see how Bubbles is focused on supporting those critical first years of child development.


Kidcreate Studio
Giggles, grins and art education for kids from toddlers to tweens!  They offer a robust schedule of weekly classes, camps, and drop-in sessions.  Click on the link to see their full class offering at the Lakeview Studio.


Skip & Scoot 
Skip & Scoot provides engaging classes to support physical, cognitive and emotional development.  These innovative sessions are created specifically to meet the needs of crawlers, walkers and runners and lead by a certified physical educator, who is also a mom!  Click on the link to find a class location near you, or even bring a class to your own neighborhood.


enerGEEwhizz
Technology meets physical fitness at enerGEEwhizz, located in Lincoln Park!  With engaging modules kids are so busy having fun they may not even realize they are exercising.  Classes are available from Preschool to Tweens, including a BYOG (Bring Your Own Grownup) option for the youngest group.  Also available are camps for those long days off from school - perfect for the winter break!


The Kid's Table
Cooking is a valuable life skill and kids, and their families can get hands-on experience at The Kid's Table.  With two locations in Chicago (Wicker Park and Lincoln Park) you can find classes created specifically for kids ages 18 months to teens!  They even have opportunities for parents to get involved with Parent & Tot classes and Family Dinners!  The Kid's Table also offers Drop-in, Parent Night Out, and Camps for Chicago kids.  Click on the link to see the full schedules at both locations.


Stages Performing Arts
Stages provides fun, engaging and developmentally appropriate, performing arts classes for everyone from newborns to budding Broadway stars!  Engaging in the dramatic arts has been shown to help kids develop confidence, language, reading and communication skills.

Buddha Belly Kids Yoga
This is the local business that made me a believer in yoga for kids.  Our family now has a "calm down" series of poses we do regularly at home to help us all refocus and just calm our minds and bodies.  Buddha Belly Kids Yoga a mobile yoga company that incorporates traditional yoga poses and breath techniques into play-based experiences for kids from babies to teens (and even their grown-ups!)

The Chopping Block
The Chopping Block provides cooking classes and camps for school-aged children to teenagers.  Kitchen skills are fundamental life skills and sessions focus on kitchen basics and graduate through the more advanced knife, baking and prep skills.

Codeverse
This is where Chicago kids learn to code!  From after studio sessions to camps, Codeverse provides the space for kids to explore how to code and create something new.  Whether it is using the studio for designing their own apps and games to using code & technology to control a variety of gadgets - kids will have fun while learning!
This Lincoln Park original has now expanded to Wilmette and Naperville!

Goldfish Swim School
Winter is a great time to learn to swim or strengthen your swim skills and Goldfish provides a great indoor environment for Chicago families!  With a large pool, skilled instructors and a variety of class times they make winter swimming possible (and convenient).  
You can also take advantage of Open Swim times throughout the week to get the whole family in the pool!
