If your usual Fourth of July traditions and plans are canceled this year, here is a round-up of our favorite ideas for a family celebration at home!
RECIPES
You can join Kids Table on Facebook today, Wednesday, July 1st at 11:00 am, for a fun Fourth of July virtual class, and learn to make Red, White and Blue Tarts with the kids. This class is offered on a "pay what you can" rate and donations to this local business can be made on their Paypal account here.
Ingredients you will need for this recipe are:
- 1 egg
- 6 T cold unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup cream cheese (2 oz), softened
- 1 pint fresh strawberries
- 1 pint fresh blueberries
- Lemon zest (optional)
- 1/2 cup + 1 T whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup + 1 T all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 T cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 T apricot preserves (optional)
- 2 T cold water
