Dan The Bard has been performing as a musician and songwriter at the Bristol Renaissance Faire for 28 years. He ran an Irish band called The Whiskey Brothers for over 20 years. His stories and songs hail from the bardic tradition, with his own sense of humor thrown in. Come hear songs and stories of monsters and heroes and the spider in the lunchbox!
Judith, an award-winning storyteller, actress, producer, and workshop leader for over 25 years, performs nationally and internationally, bringing her engaging and interactive style of world tales and personal narrative to diverse communities of all ages including to thousands of students internationally in Japan, England, Dublin, China and more.

“Tales of Monsters, Heroes, and the Spider in the Lunchbox”

10/15 & 10/16 at 2:30 and 3:45 pm

*Recommended for all ages

Gather around for story time in the forest! Our opening week will share family-friendly, cooky, spooky fun tales. Come hear songs and stories of monsters and heroes and the spider in the lunch box told by Dan The Bard.

“Grimm’s Grimmest: The Darker Side of Fairytales”

10/29 & 10/30 at 2:30 and 3:45 pm

*Recommended for ages 9 and older

What happens after Sleeping Beauty is awakened by the Prince’s kiss? “Happily ever after…,” is only relative; and what relatives inhabit these Grimm tales as originally intended for adults!  This mayhem is accompanied by music skillfully sung and evocatively played on Renaissance lute, set to 16th-century ballad tunes, complementing 19th-century German stories and transformed through Judith and Dan’s 21st-century interpretations. Lots of lurid interactive fun as you revisit the tales you missed!!

  • Tale of Talcott Stone Scavenger Hunt & Skeleton Trail Scavenger Hunt
These self-guided scavenger hunts are perfect fun for the whole family
  • Costume Contest / Dance Party
What better way to show off your Halloween style with a costume contest and dance party at 5:30 each night before the movie starts!
  • Family-Friendly Movies
We've got plenty of lawn space for your whole crew at our outdoor movie nights! No need to go all the way to the city or clean out your car for a drive-in. October 15 & 16 is Coco

¡Feliz Días de los Muertos! Grab your popcorn, pan dulce, and a cozy blanket for Movies at The Forge. Watch Coco navigate his way back to his family out of the Land of the Dead with his late great-great-grandfather and hopefully reverse their ancestral ban on music.
