And how did I discover this? Well, the LEGO Group and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have teamed up to create five LEGO box sets of Scooby and all of his friends. I was recently sent these new sets to review and both of the boys in my house (the 6 year old AND the adult!) went crazy over them!
The night the Scooby LEGO sets arrived, we had to push bedtime back an hour, because my Mac Kid could not stop playing with them. Once I got him tucked in, I came out to find my husband still hard at work putting the Mystery Mansion together. I've lost count of the hours these two have spent, together and separately, putting these sets together.
I've always been a LEGO fan because of the creativity it inspires in kids. Now I love LEGO and Scooby Doo even more because of the bonding time it has created for my husband and son. (And let's be honest, the quiet time it has created for mom!) It's been so fun to watch them put all of the sets together and listen to my husband explain who everyone is to my son. He's definitely passed down his Scooby Doo love to our Mac Kid!
The five new sets include Mummy Museum Mystery ($12.99), Mystery Plane Adventures ($19.99), The Mystery Machine ($29.99), Haunted Lighthouse ($49.99) and Mystery Mansion ($89.99). These would make an awesome holiday or birthday present for any LEGO or Scooby Doo fan. If you don't like to do candy for your Mac Kid at Halloween, these would be a perfect substitute with their haunted and mystery themes!
