A Note from Your Publisher

January 2021

By Sara Yaniga, Macaroni Kid Chicago (Midtown) January 8, 2022

Is it 2022 or 2020, too?  This note is short as I am still processing the turn this week has taken for so many of us Chicago parents.

I have a feeling I am not alone in feeling as if life was rolling back to normal, or a new "normal", when once again COVID has pulled the rug out from under our feet.  As a CPS parent, I am truly feeling what so many are feeling right now with the tenuous school situation as well. I wish I had some magic answer, but really I just reminding myself, my friends - be kind to yourselves.  Manage your time with as much flexibility as you can have right now and don't be afraid to lean on your family and friends when possible.

This week we added some new "employees" while CPS are closed.  I borrowed some friends for the kids so a little of work and chores could be accomplished.  You have to do what works in times like these and this worked for me and the other mom, who operates a small business in Chicago.
